Would be cool to track the number 1 tag. Record all the rounds and whether successfully defended, or changed hands.

Everyone throwing tags in at a tournament isn't a bad idea, it keeps the tags moving around and the best players end up with the best tags. I don't think people would avoid tournaments just to keep their tag??

Make it more interesting yet and add ways to earn exemption status from having to throw your tag in at the tournament. It would have to be something good like "defended tag successfully 5 times against 2 or more opponents".

Just an idea. You could think up ways to make it more fun and more interesting, you would just have to post the rules clearly.

I am wondering if someone might keep there tag hidden or leave it home so they dont have to give it up. I have a running challenge for dons tag, but it could be an eternity before I ever get it. But on the same token if he handicapped me I win go to a tournament and lose his tag that does not seem very fair either. I would love to take his tag, but I would hate to loose it the next day because I took it during a slanted round.

I think he would not care as much as me, and he is good enough he could probably take another good one but thats my 02

I do like the idea of mixing em up again at beliot. It would be like a race for the best at half way through e season, and then a battle to the finals. See if the same persons can get back to where they were. If you are the best you should be able to get back to low numbers. Plus beloit should have a lot of members in attendance.

Tags should fair game at all times, but I am not so sure about off card, id leave that to people, if you are are challenged by anyone you should have to honor it no matter what, it is more of bet that you don't have the option of not taking

I heard a suggestion of letting the top ten tags from the Finals getting free membership to the KDGA the following year. (if they hadn't already made it from placing in the finals or by points). It would be safe to assume about half of those tags would have already qualified for next year. Just a suggestion I heard.

it would be completely fair, you two would agree to a handicap. It would be "your" tag at that point, and yours to lose. And I have seen quite a few times where tags get "accidentally left at home." whether or not it was accidental rests on the conscience of that individual. They have a piece connected to them to secure to your bag, why can't it stay there?

I like the bag tags, even though I only get to play for them for a few months out of the year. I honestly wish sometimes I had chosen a job where I could enjoy the competition of kansas disc golf throughout year, I have a lot of fun with it, I don't get to qualify for the finals, and I sure do miss out on an awful lot of great events. the bag tag is my replacement for that.

I don't think tags should get you anything special. Just having a low tag should be enough. What you do with them at home is your call. The idea is to add something to play for.

There are several things you can do for doubles. Winning team takes lowest tags. One person of each team challenge each other. Just keep them moving around.

Lets say Kindy ended up with tag 1 after a shuffle. There is a Chan e that tag never makes it back to the open division. It may pass around his division, sweets may take it from him, now it may be stay in advanced.

Does anyone know how one might make the tags come into play at random flip double leagues.

IMO fairest suggestion that I've seen for doubles is that after you split into teams, you make two separate boxes for the tags. The players on each team with the lower numbered tag (plus the cali player if you have one) goes in one box, and players with the higher number go in the other. After the round, the winning teams players get the lowest numbered tag in their respective box. I advise making a list on a piece of paper before starting so you know what tag each player started with, and which box their tag is in.

As far as the KDGA tags go, I'd just as soon keep them fun as possible. Unlike a lot of organizations with bag tags, were simply too spread out to do anything serious with them. That being said, I'd like to see more whole division tag challenges at tournaments, as opposed to the on card/off card stuff. This might get more non-KDGA'ers incentive to sign up when they see the bag tags being used more prominently.

That being said, in regards to the oft cited complaint about people hoarding tags with prime numbers, to me the best solution is to give people with those numbers an incentive for putting them in play, and reward them for defending those low numbered tags as opposed to simply having them. Use your imagination on that one.

I agree^^^...... on the last thing I understand it would be mine to lose but I still personally would not want to take someones tag on a handicap, if I cant take it straight up then I need to keep on practicing. I do like the tags a lot!

If a massive tour swap or off card challenge takes place you better tell me before the round ever starts, cause I would call BS if someone just comes up and says o ya I am taking your tag at the end of a round or something.

If you want a tag from some state your intentions, and if someone says we are playing for tags accept it and when you lose pass it on. Slam bam alla kazam

Crispin started with Tag #1 at the Winfield Food Drive event. (Last years champ earned #1 to start)
Smitty took #1 from Crispin during the first round of Winfield Food Drive.

Phil Jackson lost #2 to me at Salina's Lakewood tournament first round. I quickly lost it to Andy Lyne second round.

Pudge had #8, Lost it to me, then I lost it to Jarod Kintzel, then I think he just lost it to Curtis Broadhurst. Smitty, you going to sit on #1 while your injured or you going to put it back into play?
