Re: State USDGC rep???
I like Kansas' PDGA tour for the USDGC rep spot. But MO's is pretty interesting as well. Check it out.

That really is s cool idea. I will think about it and maybe add to it. I don't know how many Kansas golfers would participate.

Re: State USDGC rep???
That was very cool. I bet you could find enough competitors to fund the lucky winners' travel! I'll also bet that having a one day tourney either before or after each qualifier, would make for some seriously good times! Beer Friz into the night.....

Re: State USDGC rep???
Hmmm. Not sure what I think about that??? Our format rewards the best play over the course of an entire season, however the MO format allows for a player that i playing hot nearer to the time of the USDGC.. Both have their benefits. In "ball" golf, the way you qualify for the US Open is slightly a combo of both, I would tend to lean that way.... If a player hasnt already qualified by another means, A player must first have a USGA handicap index (works on the same concept as the PDGA player ratings) of -2.9 or better (i think thats right?? I played in a qaulifier about 12 years ago and i think thats what it was then). Then you go thru 3 different levels of the qualifying process, (similar to MO) all of which are on brutally tough courses and you play along side the best of the best, both professional and amateur. Most of these I think cut 90% of the fields away (not a viable option for us, but..) and eventually can earn a spot that way...

Update?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
Re: State USDGC rep???
I need to get this updated for sure.
I will try to work on it next week.

Re: State USDGC rep???
Here is a message I got the other day.
Dear State Coordinators,
I hope that this note finds you well.
The deadline for State Representatives for the 2010 USDGC is rapidly approaching. Player registrations and entry must be received by August 31st. Thanks to all of you who have already informed us of your State's representative.
We do have one change this year. With your selection, please also send to me the selection method. These details will help us to preserve and improve this important aspect of the USDGC.
Thanks for all you do for the great sport of disc golf.
Take care,
Harold Duvall
In the past the KDGA has sent in the entry fee to reserve the spot and then I let them know who our State Rep. is going to be. Then the Rep just pays the KDGA.
Ok, here is the current AVG. ratings for the people who have contacted me or have an interest in it.
Ronnie 1015,985,985,964,993 =988.4
Crispin 975,1020,984,974,956 =981.8
Bo 952, 966, 996, 966 =970 (only has 4 events to use)
Leo 993, 992, 998, 937, 979 =979.8
Babbit 980, 975, 992, 1027, 987 =992.2
These results do not include Cherry Street. The info has been turned in and they will show up on the next update. I mailed the info and missed the deadline. Sorry!
Events that will figure into and decide the 2010 Kansas State Rep.
Cherry Street when the ratings are updated and both Emporia events.
If anyone wants to look and see if you have a chance or wants to be considered for the Rep. spot. Please let me know and I will see where you are at.

Re: State USDGC rep???
It's pretty close race!
The next ratings update isn't until the 31st, so Cherry will be on that for sure. Not sure if the Emporia events will make the cut-off deadline to be on that ratings update. I asked Chuck what the deadline is. Would you use unofficial ratings if that is too late?
If registration deadline is August 31st, and the update is that day, will that be enough time to let them know who is in? I assume if the entry is paid, an email with name and PDGA number would be all you really needed.

Re: State USDGC rep???
Submission deadline for next ratings update is Tuesday August 17, 2010 so the MIO and DDO events will most likely not be included in the update. Maybe we could sweet talk the PDGA into it, who knows.

Re: State USDGC rep???
The Emporia results could and probably will make it in to the next ratings update.
In the event they don't, I will know the players round ratings and figure it with unofficial ratings. They normally don't change very much.
They all still have a very legit shot at getting the spot. The person that looks to have the most to improve on is Leo. If Leo can pull off a good tourney, he could go again. That 939 is really dragging him down.
