What a great long term investment, in my opinion.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

My daughter had her birthday party at the Shardust skate center today. I took my mini basket and a box of mini's to give away to the kids once they had made a short putt. She had invited 20 kids and they loved it!! So did the rest of the kids who were there on their own accord. To see their excitement firsthand was a profound experience. Imagine the possibilities........

We could buy some of these new edge instructional videos and distribute them to various p.e programs throughout Kansas.

I have been talking to My son's school about the program. The principal seems very interested minus the initial expense. It is a small school.

I still think this would be a good idea.

Greetings from the great state of Louisiana. Was just checking out the forum and came across the thread about EDGE. I think it is great. With two kids who went through the so-called disc golf weeks (two) at Pratt High, I know the teacher who used to have the classes knew absolutely nothing about the game. She basically gave them discs the school had, showed them where hole 1 was and said okay, be back here in 40 minutes. Any instruction the students got were from those who knew the game and how to play. I think this is an excellent program.....go for it Kansas.

I have purchased a copy of the EDGE instructional video. I will be making it available to the PE teachers here in Norton. The JH teacher has already said he would show it in his classes!

The video is excellent, and would benefit anyone who plays but is geared to beginners! It is very well done and shows some great shots by some of the best (Ken Climo and Des Reading, just to name two)! I highly recommend it! There is also a music video with great disc golf shots set to music, and more!!!

The Valley Hope Rehabilitation Center in Norton has contacted me about buying some discs and making disc golf available to their residents. I will make the video available to them also. I have encouraged them to purchase their own copy for future use! So far I have seen the residents playing softball and tossing Frisbees, so disc golf is a natural step for an alternate activity!

Also, I have given away discs in Norton this year to high school aged and younger! There are now kids coming up to me on the course and I have been coming up with discs to give them, but am running out quickly. If anyone has used discs to give away, and you don't have anyone to give them too, you might consider Norton! We are getting a lot of kids on the course due to the JH program!

That's great to hear that the video is good. It seems like a great idea to spread something like that around. Keep up the good work!

Might as well not make this thread a sticky anymore.

I just figured that since nobody has said anything about it since Oct of last year that it wasn't going to happen.
