Re: Big Boy Toy Show
I just got wrangled into working tomorrow. I'll be out after 2pm to help out.
Anyone who can help in the morning, please come out early to help Discs Unlimited and Convers get set up. 8:00-8:30 would be good. I think Peter will have everyone's vouchers for free admission. I'll get back if I find out for sure. Don't hesitate to come out if you can. If you are volunteering, you won't be charged admission.

Ok, some of you I got onto the list on time and you'll be able to pick up a nametag at the front. Others will have have the front desk call someone up from Discs Unlimited booth or Power 93.9 booth to get your pass brought to you. Peter Mohr should be able to help if you need a name.

Re: Big Boy Toy Show
I think this event was a great success for the Wichita club and Disc golf in general. I can't thank the local volunteers (that gave up their Saturday to make this possible), enough. Thanks also to the vendors and mfg.s that donated prizes . The list includes Fox and Hounds, Sticky-Icky.com, Discraft, Discs Unlimited, The PDGA, and myself. If you were a volunteer please make sure I have your name on the extra-credit list. (Sort of like the nice list!)
What do you remember best about the show? I've got to admit that teaching Miss February to putt (while she was dressed in spike heels and a little black skirt) was sort of fun
Probably the most memorable was helping the cowboy reinactors to run through the course while in full gear, pistol and all
Welcome to Kansas
I'll put the picture up when I get a chance. Thanks again.

Wow, you guys rock! This was a huge effort on the part of many people to make this happen. I wasn't there most of the day, but I think there were 20-some people that helped out all day inside while the most beautiful day of the year was happening. Some were supposed to work, but showed up anytway to see this succeed. I hope everyone believes it was worth it. From my scorecard count, which is probably quite a bit less than the total, 243 got to experience disc golf, many for the first time! Lots of kids. Women too. Lots of prizes and all for free thanks to the sponsors. The set up was very impressive. Discs Unlimited dropped everything to come do this event up in style. Bob & Robin printed a ton of material for people to take home with them. Many brought baskets, help set up and tear down, and assisted players all day long. I know I can't name everyone: Kile, Miranda, Ashlyn, Robin, Randy, Scooba, Hunter, Josh, Kyle, Iqbal, Chris, Buddy, Bob, Dennis, Annetta, Jason, Peter, Don, Mike, Ron, Mark. That's a huge list of volunteers right there! You guys all inspire me with how well you taught the game to so many new people. Scott Miller got a ton of Fox & Hound vouchers. $8 x 150+ is a huge sponsorship from Fox & Hound. Hats off to the main man, Ron Convers, for getting everyone together on this. A true professional, even with Ms. February! Seriously, Ron spent a ton of time making this a big event for disc golf. Thanks to Mr. Yearout for puting disc golf on center stage. You all deserve a big pat on the back. Disc golf ambassadors? You know it.

Re: Big Boy Toy Show
So what other kind of stuff did they have at this thing, like tractors, powersports, tools and stuff?

You know, if I had known if Miss February and the women of KU were going to be there, I'd have tried better to not come down with a cold.

Re: Big Boy Toy Show
The other night I went out to "The Ridge" which is the restaurant by the public golf course here in town. I was talking to Ryan Kyger, the golf pro out there, and he said that he talked to Mike about disc golf at the Big Boy Toy Show. He was pretty interested and wanted me to show him some time. It's cool that you guys got some more people interested in this sport.
