Umm, Throw a 600ft Spike hyzer? How long is that hole?

That's what I wanna try.

Of all the Emporia courses I personally like Peter Pan the best.

Shawnee South and Anthony were fun too. I do have to get out to Hays sometime.

From the old tee(which is the drop zone now) it was possible to throw over on your drive. Still a pretty big bomb to actually get it there from the tee

Who deleted my post?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Yeppers it's a BOMB!!!!!!!!! Nope, I'm working on par on that hole, not hitting the damn trees just off the tee pad will save me at least 2 or 3 strokes every tourney I play there. I'm thinking I might be able to throw an annie flex and still keep in inbounds, or I could always throw a roller with a Stratus..........the options, the options.

I really like Peter Pan too (even if I did play like $%#*$*# during the MIO) . I've tried to play it a couple of times since then, but there are a jillion little kids running around messing with hole 3's basket every time I go there, so I just say screw it and go to Jones....
Throw some D's on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hole #1 at Beloit is a lot of fun. The Long and Skinny at Ransom is definitely a pucker shot and you can't beat throwing off of the cliffs at the Rock. Hays is classic and Atchison has really thrown it's hat into the ring with some quality holes. Not to mention all of the other courses already discussed. We really have some good golf to choose from in KS.

Though I've only played Norton, Colby, Ellis, Hutchison, and Herman Hill, here's my favorites.... #15 Norton, in long up on the burm, just ask Smitty about that one a couple years back at the tourney. Colby #9, tough with lake on the right and a nasty tree in the middle of the fairway. Ellis, #2 or 3, not sure, got to be the smallest island hole I've ever seen. No comment for Hutch, and I personally think #18 at the hill, long pad is pretty cool. Up and over with a bush? in the way. And yes you guys got some cool courses, can't wait to play jones east after seeing some of the pics. But for the best course, probably the one at Stockton inside PRISON limits, lol.

So, best holes in KS, eh? What makes them the best? I'd say fun factor and the balance of good scoring variation with fairness.

At Hays, my favorites are Hole 1 asphalt to alt, Hole 3 concrete to original, Hole 6 asphalt to original, Hole 8 concrete to alt, Hole 15 concrete to alt., Hole 18 concrete to alt. Which one is the best hole? 8 is both tough and fair. Great par 4. A big drive is a bonus there, but I've been punished many times for getting greedy with a roller.

The Rock has an assortment of great holes as well. Hole 1 from the shorter tee to the middle placement up top. Hole 2 to the top of the rock. Hole 3. Hole 4 down to the corner. Hole 6. Hole 8. Hole 12! Hole 14 if the island and the area where the drop zone is was the only thing that was safe. What is the best hole? They all had great scoring spread as the stats showed. Hole 12 bad the best scoring spread. From 2 to 6 and more. All the downhill bombs are fun.

My favorite hole at Oak Park is hole 10 long. Toughest hole on the course. Maybe not for pro, but par 4 for advanced. 17 is a good one too.

At Herman Hill, I like hole 4 long to long, hole 12 short to long, hole 11 long to long, and hole 17 long to long.

In Jones Park, for the west course, I like hole 4 and hole 11 the best.

For Jones East, I like hole 2 to long or short, hole 4 to long or short, hole 6 to long, hole 8, and hole 17 to long.

I agree that that hole 8 is the best at Tuttle Creek.

Centennial has few really good holes. My favorite is the longest downhiller that plays across the creek.

At Rosedale, I might like 10 long the best? 14 is a cool righty hyzer. Hole 1 and a few others have some difficult long woods placements.

At Wyco my favorites are 1,2,3,4,7, and 14. Those are all killer holes.

At Ted's, 1,3,6 on long or medium tee, 9 on both tees and both pins, 11 from long to long is one of the best tunnel shots, 13, 14 both placements!, 15, 18 from the long tee to the long or short basket.

Best course has to be Rosedale down under. Everyone has the arm to park every hole but it takes every shot in your bag to score well. It just needs better signage.

I also like Newton and Pratt, come to think of it though, there aren't too many that I don't like at least a little.

A couple of my favorite holes probably haven't been played by many Kansas golfers.

They are on a seldom played course in Southwest Kansas, Dodge City.

Hole 1- 300 feet down a hill. Cool looking hole, and very easy to blow past.

Hole 2 is killer. Long, a few trees to deal with, and a perfect basket placement.

Hole 4 alt. 150 feet. Never been aced as far as I know.

Hole 5 from both the alt. tee and the short tee. Alt is about 310 feet with 1 pine guarding the route. Most right handers are going to end up with a long uphill putt, because the are going to skip/fly past the hoop.
-----From the alt, it could be one of the best holes in Kansas. Very long, down hill then uphill. A huge group of cedars in the landing zone. Hyzer out to the left, and you have a hard mother of an upshot.

Hole 6 Sweet from both tees.

Hole 7 doesn't suck

Hole 8 is BAD ARSE from both tees. Looks great and plays great.

Hole 9 one of the best greens in Kansas. You miss a putt here, and it is going to cost you.

If you are ever in the Dodge City area, swing in and play Chilton Park. You will be happy.

Looks like if plans are stuck too Derby could end up on the top tenon many peoples lists. So far I like colwich alot and I seems derby is going to also be difficult like that course but also more manicured. I just hope they dont open it too much and leave some of the difficulty in the layout. Guess we will see as time goes by.
