Hot and Cold 2012
I'm looking to KDGA members to see if there is any interest in a 2012 Hot and Cold. If so, what would be the ideal weekend?
I know this is irregular, but Pratt's disc golf scene is dying. There are more casual players than ever, but we don't even have an official league anymore.
As it stands now, there is no set date for the Hot and Cold.

I love the Pratt Tourney, I would be there for sure. Were you wanting to get a head count of how many KDGA members would attend, or kdga members that would help with the tourney ?
Re: Hot and Cold 2012
It would be a sad day if Pratt fell off the tourney schedule. I am pretty sure Smokey ran the first Pratt event about 11 years ago. It was the Ransom/Pratt weekend. Does anyone remember the Pratt B-tier? World Champion Eric McCabe made the trip, granted he wasn't a world champ but he made the trip. If I remember right he didn't win?
Pratt was my "home course" for about a year. I use to make the drive to Pratt from Dodge nearly every Sunday to play league.
Corbin, get at me with a date. I can either run it and teach you the ropes or be there to help you run it. I will not be able to do any pretourney prep. Lets make this thing happen.

I don't think I have played Pratt since 2001 or 2002. Loved that course though. I would definitely try to make it back to play it again.
It would be the best to throw it in the same weekend as Hutchinson or Newton or something close around so I could hit 2 tourneys if I am gonna drive that far. If not this year than maybe the next:)

I learned that soccer nets do not stop disc at this tourney. Also, this is the tourney that the baby blue Gateway Warlocks debuted.
There was a lot of added cash. I see that Hickman did not take cash. Beleive he was headed to some am world event.

Re: Hot and Cold 2012
Pudge,
I was looking for an idea of how many KDGA members who would like to attend. I have a thread in the Pratt section seeing if there is anyone who wants to volunteer. If anybody outside Pratt wants to volunteer, that would be welcome too.
I will be contacting a couple TD's from the past and getting some information from them, so hopefully the 2012 Hot and Cold can be a reality.

Former TDs would be your dad, Tatro, and Ryan.
By the time this event rolls around, I will be 80 minutes closer. You need to just pick a date so this thing is on the schedule. You will have between 40 and 100 players depending on the weather and promotion.

I don't know which route you were taking to Pratt, but Newton is only 35 miles/30 minutes closer than Winfield is, my brother!

Guess I will be to far north now. I stand corrected.

I would love to play this tourney if we can get it on the schedule.

I too would be more likely to make the trip if it were the same weekend as say Newton.jnotty wrote:It would be the best to throw it in the same weekend as Hutchinson or Newton or something close around so I could hit 2 tourneys if I am gonna drive that far. If not this year than maybe the next:)
