Newton boys showed us the course layout and we played a formatted round similar to what is going down next weekend. I have never been the hugest fan of doubles, but the different formats and strategy options made this form of play exciting, challenging and an overall INTERESTING, fun and different style of Competetive golfing. Thanks Swede, Kindy and Dan. That practice round was all I needed to get super-amped on the tournament. Great job Swede. Scooping up Kindy as a partner, I would say Smitty has an advantage.

Less than a week till the doubles throwdown of the season!

NEWTON DISCOUNT LIQUOR is kicking in 150 bones! Let's make sure they are our stop for cigs, cokes, energy drinks, as well as booze. From the course, they are just past the second stop-light as you head north into town. Open @ 9am 1225 Washington Road

For those of you running late, mention the tournament and get 10% off @ Burger King

Plan on some CTP prizes and a unique throw-off for the ace pot (if nobody singles).

Smitty, good looking out. Kingpin and Buh, thanks for coming down to test drive some formats. Can't wait to see how this plays out. King and Kindy (996 and 861) kicked the snot out of Dan and Me (913 and 992)--and that was with 4 holes of Tough Shot! I think this thing is going to be wide open. The two that play the best together are gonna come out on top.

I'd love to have you post your team so I have an idea how many are coming but no, you don't need to pre-reg. Just be signed up by 9:15 Saturday morning at the course.

During alternate shot holes are you doing true alt. shot or designated driver every other hole?
Also, during switch+bonus holes, if Ring and I both ace do we get a 0?

Alt drive--leaves room for some strategy.

When solving for Z in x=y(2x-z)-.314 it becomes apparent that two aces is worth -1 stroke according to robert's rules of order. An ace and a birdie, however, is the same as busting in 21: you go back to 11.

Please remove me and T-Rude from the list. I'm sure I will miss out on a lot of fun but I just have to much to do around here... If anybody is looking to play but does not have a partner Brian Shields I believe would still like to play. If you are interested I have his number.

Sorry to remove TEAM DOUBLE FIST from the list. Someday we will drag Ruder to the Hawk. BTW, is Austin coming? This is "his" course 8) !

When one door closes, somebody breaks a window. So let me introduce...

Are we playing the normal holes? Or do you have some kind of safari set-up on the last few again?
