The annual Scholarship fundraiser Tournamnent is coming up the end of April. Remember- APPLICATIONS are due APRIL 1st. If no applications are received; then the scholarship will be open to current college/tech students. Information will be posted and/or given out at this tournament.
The course has recovered nicely from the fire last year (although there are still dead trees to remove). The baskets are in, the fairways have been mowed and a ton of clearing has taken place. Top pros will have no problem playing this course in under par; it just looks tougher than it really is.
The following entry fees will cover the following: $2 KDGA fee, $3 ace fund, $5 lunch (preparing enough for 100 people) and $8 scholarship funding. Like last year, there will be Mulligans for sale: 1 for $2 or buy 5 for $5. Only five for sale and can be used anytime anywhere. All proceeds from mulligans go to the scholarship.
Open -$40 ; All other Pro Divisions (Master, GM, Women) - $35 ; Advanced - $40 ; AmII - $30 ; Am Master $35 ; Am GM $30; Am Women- $30 ; Novice- $25 ; Jr- $20.
Once again, there will be trophies with tick skins. There will also be discounted product for sale like last year. Bring your tax refund or your stimulus package. Hope to see you there. Any further info- call 316-650-9759.
How to get there- From Andover Rd and Kellog (54 Hgwy) go 5 miles south, 4 miles east and then 5/8 mile south on a gravel road. Stop by after 4 or call Jeff at 776-2826 to arrange a time

Thanks- Every year we have grown. By the time your children are of age, I hope it is a full ride.

I can't make the tournament on Saturday April 25th, but would I be able to play a casual round there? I'll gladly make a donation towards the scholarship. 8)

I haven't seen any of the Winfield kids in a while. Track is taking up all of my free time, and I know some of the are busy with baseball.

When is the actual deadline Bill?

Applications were due April 1st. We have received at least one app. Sorry about not getting back sooner but have been dealing with seriously ill in laws. One with heart bypass surgery and recovery and the other with hospice. And on the possitive side, a new grandbaby. I sure would like to get some disc golf in but can only sneak in a quick round every couple of weeks. There is once again, special trophies for the tournament. Only the winners in each division plus top scores will receive them- 60 total. Should be a good time.

The course is set, tee flags and direction arrows in and holes measured. This years version is much shorter than years past but still challenging with its tight fairways. Double digit under par should be expected with no wind but it is Kansas. There are 6 holes over 300, 5 holes from 250 to 300, 6 holes from 200 to 250 and one barely under 200. Shawn's Big Hot Meat will again cater the event. Please come show your support for advancing the education of our youth disc players.
