I agree, 3 years ago thats the only reason I tried to play my first tourney was to see those guys throw and hang out.
Great tourney and good time. I do have some feedback for the GBO
Hole 18's
Gold (east) - I left that whole bummed and felt a little shorted so to speak. It was not worth me trying to for 3 and having same chance of getting 5 or 6 on the whole when i could toss disc 10 feet of tee pad, walk to drop, lay up and take my easy 4 with out really playing disc golf. I know the entire card before, ours, and behind us did the same.
Positive - there was no build up or wait - So a drop and spotter help that for sure. Suggestions maybe
1. certain divisions don't play island. ( i don't want that but would understand)
2. Move drop zone back
3. Off tee drop zone- Way back on top of hill left side of fairway. And a Drop zone for the island - play it with the same rules as ecc 18 ( no fly by or overs). When island is missed go to the drop zone you had this year.
ECC 18 - Had some room to shorten the whole just a little 315-325 ish - It would be a lot more tempting and bring the macho factor into the mix a little more. "315 got to go for that or your ...!' it would also would tighten the angle for easy hyzer lay up as well as so the flick lay up would come into play more often and players would end up with slightly longer 2nd shots with the disc finishing away from island.

Anyway great weekend, courses and tourney! loved it and will always attend.

18 on the Gold course has already been discussed. I will make sure that we don't play it the same way next year.

18 on the ECC, I think was perfect. The way the final round ended, proved that for sure. Going for it and missing cost Eric second place or even the win. Devan laying up secured him second place and cost him the win.

The whole course was sweet. I really liked hole 1. Great risk/reward. The on or across cart paths was tough in that wind. Looking foward to getting another round on the course next year.

Wish I would have thought about cheating hole 18 on the gold. I took a 5. That would have gained me the one strtoke I missed cash by.

Hole 18 pissed everyone on my card off, drives usually don't even make it to where the dropzone was. 17s dropzone I felt was very similar, way up the fairway leaving a 80-100 footer for a 3. Couldnt ask for a much better country club course, minus the hole that was chamged from the practice round, moved back 150 feet. Great weekend of disc golf!

I uploaded 3 videos during the event, 2 of which I submitted to PDGA. But PDGA did not put them on their homepage despite having one of the largest disc golf events.

Here they are if you missed them.

I would like to get some feedback on 3 rounds? Did you guys like 3 rounds? Would you rather of had 4?

Other things I need some feedback on is possibility of Friday. It would guarantee you more golf and allow the tourney to expand.

What about a HUGE players pack for the intermediate division with less money going to the payout at the end of the event, and more payout before the event started.

3 rounds was enough. What I enjoyed the most were tee times. It makes disc golf seem more legit for me.

If you are going to expand the tourney to Friday, you should make it an NT. Playing 2 rounds on Friday, then doing tee times on Saturday and Sunday would be ideal in my mind.

Not much benefit of making the event an NT. We could still run that same schedule for Pro's as an A-tier, and run the Ams on the same schedule as this year.

Jeremy Rusco sent me an email today I guess someone turned my wallet in to him with everything in it, including around 50 dollars in cash. Can you believe it? Well I am blown away at this act of kindness, everything that is important to me is in that hunk of leather. I offered Jeremy to keep the money and he would have no part of it. Less the UPS shipping that he used to send it out, my wallet is on its way back to me! Thank you who ever you are, disc golfers are the best!! :D

I missed playing 4 rounds, but enjoyed the staggered tee times on saturday. I'd be completely down for playing 2 rounds friday then 1 sat and 1 sunday.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

I think it would be nice to spread 4 rounds out over a course of 3 days. I wonder if it is possible to put 2 normal sized courses at the country club for regular play on Friday and Saturday and then blow it up to the monster course for the pros on Sunday. Then you would have 5 courses to work with for the early rounds...just a thought. There definitely needs to be changes to the drop zones that eliminate the risk/reward shot off the tee for next year. Maybe just play them all as point of entry at the o.b. line. My 2 cents worth for my first time at a GBO which was still FANTASTIC and can't wait till next year.

I'd love to see 4 rounds, by just adding a friday afternoon round then 2 on Sat. one on Sunday. I liked getting to watch the pros at the ECC after my round was over. But I miss the 4 rounds.

Yes, a few drop zones were quirky, but those are easily fixed. Im sure the staff just didnt think that people would be willing to throw a shot behind them to advance it 250 ft. DD will get that straightened out.

The event was INCREDIBLE! This is now the premier tourney in this region and quickly becoming one of the best nationwide.. As most have said the best part of the GBO is the chance to play with the world's best players right here in KS.
I would really like to see the finish of the tourney remain the same. Never played an event with a stadium golf hole like #18 at the Country Club. With the spectators on #1's green and the hill behind #18's green, it was quite a unique experience. Was very cool to get the nice applause after making my 3 to finish the weekend...This would be lost if the weekend was split for the pro's and am's.

Looking forward to next year already!
