Who's team needs what?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Does your Masters player have to be 40? Or can the be PDGA eligible for Masters, turn 40 in the year.

What is the age cut off for a JR?

Both may make a bid difference in the Winfield Team.

Your master must turn 40 by December 31, 2011. This is the way the PDGA rules on masters division. The junior must be under 16.

Update: I am doing work on sponsorships for this event. If your local club is interested in donating minis for player packs or has some CTP prizes they would donate please let me know. We will also take any cash sponsorship to help cover the rental of the shelter and increase player packs. I am excited about this event in the first year and we will have fun in Newton. Looks like BBQ sandwiches for dinner on Saturday night.

Here is the format for this tourney:

Saturday AM: Doubles stroke play. You will divide your team into a trio and a pair. The trio will play best shot and the pair will play alternating shot. Lowest combined scores for teams will determine pool seeding for match play.

Saturday PM: Pool Play Match Play: Top 1-2 teams from each pool will qualify for the finals on Sunday afternoon. Number of qualifiers will depend on number of teams.

Sunday AM: Last chance qualifier for teams that did not qualify for finals on Saturday afternoon. This will be match play as well.

Sunday PM: Finals with match play.

Please start to post teams that will be coming for this event. You can PM me or list them here on the forum. If you have team registered by next Friday (August 5) there will be full players pack. After that date there will still be players pack with a little less stuff. Looking forward to seeing everyone at this event. Newton will have a team but the makeup is still up in the air with the Swede having surgery but we will have a team shortly.

I guess I don't understand the doubles on Saturday.

If it is modeled after TX Teams

Match play all day Saturday with the top teams qualifying.

Then the "Mix Master" on Sunday AM to qualify for the finals. This is where you would play stoke play to get into the finals. Top team or two teams, whatever you needed to make the finals worth it.

Kindy explained to me that the doubles/triples on Saturday is for the purpose of seeding the teams before the round robin.

Please post teams on the forum or email them to me at [email protected]. Remember if a player does not have a PDGA rating I will need to make a ruling on their division eligibility.

People have been asking about the players pack:

Your entry fee will cover and include the following:

BBQ Dinner on Saturday Night
Camping Fees if you stay night
Ace Fund for the tourney
A Kansas Team Championships dry fit shirt
2 Discs: one will be a full color dyed design

Also the opportunity to take home the Kansas Team Championship Trophy. This new trophy will be done by the end of the week and I will post a picture when finished. There is still the possibility of a few more items being added.

Looks like you will come out ahead, and that is figuring lightly.

BBQ Dinner on Saturday Night - $7.00
Camping Fees if you stay night $10.00
Ace Fund for the tourney $5.00
A Kansas Team Championships dry fit shirt $15
2 Discs: one will be a full color dyed design $15 + $20

Looks like about $73 for your $45/person entry.

Who cares about all that. The chance to say you played in and lost to Winfield in the first Kansas Team Championships.
