I had posted that with the addition of the 1700 Division, we would not have a Recreational Division. I see there is interest in the Rec Division but I am afraid that some of these teams would actually be too strong for the One7. At this point I'm not going to say "no" to a Rec Division but...
1) If we have a chance to fill the tourney with rated players in the two official divisions, I want to do it. I spent a lot of time spitting out these ratings and this is the only shot to use them. So, players with ratings get first dibs at DUBS. If we play 20 holes/round, we can host 40 teams. Last year we had 23.
2) A Rec Division would be for teams not capable of competing in the 1700 division. Folks that is pretty well beginners. I expect unknown players to have a tougher time proving they aren't too good to play the One7.
THIS EVENT IS GOING TO BE TIGHEEEET! The Swede and crew have put SO much work into this, that no KS Golfer should miss it! My partner and I last year came no where close to winning but had the greatest time with the format, friends and adult beverages. This year, I am looking to have double the fun and play some good golf. anyone under 881 that wants to partner up and party at the hawk, shoot me a PM and lets brew this thing. my potential partner will learn some valuable playing tips as well as a sweet uniform. even if we dont shoot the best, we will look the best, and isnt that what it really all about?
thanks for all the PMs showing interest in sharing glory this coming October. after careful consideration, I have opted to team up with none other than Derby's own, Jason Childre. Sporting some fantastic face-furniture, we will forever be known as the "Cookie Dusters"
Again, thank you for your interest and I wish this was a team event so everyone that pm'd me could all join forces and really throw down.
