Re: 1880 Doubles @ Camp Hawk Sept 29

1880 DUBS will NOT have a recreational division. Instead we will offer in addition to the 1880 Division, a 1700 Division. Price is the same, Payout is the same, Team Ratings limit is lower.

Having played a KDGA or PDGA tournament in the last two years is STRONGLY encouraged for participation in this event.

K-Ratings have been updated to include the official PDGA ratings for the B-Pool @ Doo Dah. Sarah had her first round score jump 40 points. With the addition of the 1700 (one7) division, I felt it was important to adjust those ratings.

Kingpin hooked us up with a Double Darwin! 1880's will keep evolving with the One7 (1700 Division). No more begging Convers to partner up. Get your buds together and lets double down @ the Hawk. Gonna hammer out the holes/formats tonight. Thanks for posting your teams!

I am checking with the teams that have posted about possibly rescheduling this event to Oct 20th. If someone can get me in touch quickly with Matt and Brock, Jason and Dustin, or Joe and Patrick, that would be awesome. Post, PM or call 316- 651- Seven512

There is a new sheriff in town, the Rooster Cogburn KDGA equivalent of the "over the hill" wizened old man teaming up with a newly deputized young partner hopes to restore order upon the unruly and unshaven crowd of the 1880's in Newton.

Team "Mostly Millennium"

"Rooster" Dennis Vahsholtz 960 "w/o the eye patch and the enlarged liver"
with deputy Ned Vahsholtz 908 hope to create a positive outcome on this historic occasion.

If we are in need of reinforcements we just might have to call upon our posse "Team Avahshmaass" which kind of sounds like a character out of the Hindu epic "Ramayana" to help us round up any other uncooperative teams that might try to escape into the wilderness of Camp Hawk.

Alex Vahsholtz 861
Ben Maass 997

Famous Quotes from True Grit

"It's payday, boys, come and get it!"

"You can't lock up a man's whiskey!"

"Watch yourself, sister! Everything in these woods'll either bite ya, stab ya or stick ya! "
and the classic----

"Damn your murderin' hides! Meet your maker! "

The above mentioned teams are set for the 29th but if the date changes we will have to see what pans out. Sept. 30th might work and 3 out of the 4 members might be OK with October 20th. We would have to have a Pow Wow.

1880 and 1700 DUBS @ Camp Hawk **OCT 20th**

Post by Swede »

This weekend I learned that 8 of the 22 active KDGA players above a 950 rating are going to Joplin for the 4 States Open the weekend of 1880 Dubs. All 8 of those guys played Dubs last year--they represent 1/3 of the inaugural turnout.

In addition to Joplin, there are two other disc golf events scheduled for Saturday the 29th: the Big Brothers Big Sisters event in Stillwell, KS and an Ace Race at Oak Park. It seems our sport is having a few growing pains. And I have made a difficult decision:

1880 DUBS has been RESCHEDULED for Saturday October 20th.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience and really hope those who have been making plans to come will be able to make the new date. All teams who had posted have given the go-ahead with the possible exception of 1/4 of the True Grit contention. It would be awesome to have a "Maass" of Vahsholtzes running around @ the Hawk!

Huge thanks to Smitty for giving up his spot (Peabody) on the schedule. He knew how important it was for me to have ALL my disc golf buds make it to 1880. I am hearing some interest in playing Peabody so make some noise on the forum and convince Smitty it is worth it to find a date.
