The empiror is wearing no clothes. The 10 dollars never was a discount, but has always been a discouraging senseless penalty.

According to wictionary, discount as a noun means a reduction in price. Like I'm a PDGA member so I pay 10 bucks less than you! As a verb if you sign up with the PDGA you can discount the 10 bucks (if you are a new member) from the cost of your membership! I didn't like it initially, but after looking at the numbers once again(after talking to you at Pratt, Smitty) It looks like maybe it wasn't so stupid after all. Tournament #'s are up, # of players is up, # of members is up, even in these economic hard times our rate of increase is larger than it was when it was a $5 charge! How many packs of cigs does it set you back Friz? 2 1/2? 3 gallons of gas? Get real  If you only play 1 tourney a year pay the extra $10 or If you take Disc golf a little more serious, join the PDGA and get your $10 discount at every sanctioned tourney.

I really do listen and respect what Ron has to say, but the numbers being up and relating that to the fee's. I believe is a little scewed. Everything disc golf p is up, way up from my understanding. Is it not the fastest growing sport to date? I just don't see that relating to paying 10 dollar discount. It relates to a great sport for all ages and abilities that people can play for minimal cost compared to other sports. Granted, I do not know about how being a member benefits me other than the fee. I will look into things, as I want to support the sport!

I don't think the $10 fee has much to do with people signing-up and does have tons to do with people not sanctioning events. I think that may have been the driving force behind it. I think the schedule was getting bogged down with to many sanctioned events.

The PDGA does have some bang for its buck.
You can post on the PDGA forum.
You get a PDGA # you keep for life.
Ratings, probably the most fun advantage being a member.
You get the Magazine.
Plus you get to save $10 on all PDGA events. These should be the best events in the state/region.

Enough about the PDGA and all they do and don't do. Lets get back to the topic at hand.

DOO DAH in 1 week.

How many do we have registered?
Is Herman set-up to play? Are all the pins in tourney locations?
Who plays where? Normally Open starts at Oak on day 1 and finishes at Herman on day 2.
Who is running doubles on Friday? Do you need someone to run it?

Preregistration will be held at the Water Treatment Center at Herman Hill from 6:30-8:30.

We will have doubles Friday night at Herman Hill. Deb & I are running it:

Doo-Dah Deb Duhbles
Sign up at Pre-reg. Teams must tee-off by 8:30.

Bring your partner. $5 per person. We will offer an Open and an Am Division.
Glow sitcks will be for sale; 3 for $1.

The courses are ready to play; Herman pins are on long placements.

I'm not sure who's playing where, Mike or Randy?

I think there are 20 players registered this far. I guess Randy never got the password to upload scores to the PDGA, so he is taking care of that today.

Open players will likely play Oak Park on Saturday and Herman Hill on Sunday. Advanced will be opposite and likely the other ams. If the field gets pretty big or lop-sided, some of the smaller divisions may end up different.

Lot's of sponsors coming in! I'll try to have an update tonight.

With this being a "B" tier, I am wondering if their will be a playes pack and if they are limited in numbers.

Yes there will be players packs (a disc & some goodies, so far). I don't anticipate we will run out.

Man I think if the player list was up on-line you would probably have 50-60 people.

If this tourney doesn't fill, there is something wrong.

Randy's TD pack got sent to the wrong address and I think he still hasn't got it. I think he said he just got his password yesterday. That's probably why you don't see the update to the players list.

I tried to spread the word in Arkansas. Sounds like a few Okies are going to make the trip. Coda, Shana, Josh Crowl, Kyle Wilkes, Matt Stewart.
