There used to be a hyzer line for righties and lefties, but now there are trees around the tee that prevent a hyzer (it was moved). Climo driving on 17. (Brandon is at the end of the Maceman video!)

Last year if you went in the buncr, it was OB, and you had to re-throw plus penalty. Looks like this year you have to re-throw, but no penalty! These red roped bunkers are on holes 10, 13, 14, and 17! Ouch! So that will save some strokes for sure! Still is a tougher than tough course!!!

I hear on hole 17 that Nate shot a Circle two because of the buncr rule, during practice. First shot OB, second shot off the tee went in the bucket!

You forgot Pete Cashen. I don't know when he goes off, but he is a Kansas boy.

As for the BunCR rule, you miss OB. You rethrow without out a penalty stroke.

Hole 17 has to be a straight to anhyzer shot. A Flick can also be a nice safe shot.

Nate "Aced" hole 17 with a Banger.
Hemmi Aced 17 with a Spike hyzer.
Pete Aced the Bambo hole.

Us Kansas boys are pretty good.

Pete Cashen is certainly a good ol' boy...but NOT a Kansas boy...go ahead, ask him sometime! He's one of those MOThrows-types. :P

I beg to differ Doc. Pete lives and works in Kansas City, KS. He might originally be from MO, I don't know, but that's s different story.

What is this "buncr" rule? Is this a legit circle 2?

Word is that the "buncr" rule came about because players who may be playing the course during the early morning hours may face completely different conditions (namely in regard to wind) than those who may play it later in the day, in which case the usual OB penalty might be unfairly punitive to groups who have more wind to deal with. Dave Dunipace explains here...

So I wonder, are they going to use this just for the USDGC, or is this going to be a rule that TD's can utilize at PDGA events in the future?

It wouldn't be a circle 2, there was no penalty stroke.
