Concrete tee pads have been installed at Peter Pan! They are only three feet wide but it is good to have something to tee off of other than dirt/mud! There have also been a few course changes. Hole 5, 6, and 9 have been removed completely so there are three new holes to fill these and then the basket on hole #14 has been pushed back towards the creek.

Registrations are coming in quickly for this tournament! Looking to see this event fill again this year at 100 players! If you want a spot in this tournament I would recommend signing up before Saturday morning.

The Discraft and Innova discs are in. The CryZtal Avenger SS is sure to be a popular one!

Food will be available for lunch on Saturday by JMo's. They have been out at the Glass Blown Open the last two years and are a BIG sponsor for both events this year. Lunch will be plentiful proportions of pulled pork, beans, and chips. I really want to encourage everyone to stay at the park for lunch and grab a plate from JMo's as they are really supporting both events this year with a $250 contribution towards the skins match for the Glass Blown Open.

League this week (Tuesday and Thursday) will be at Peter Pan so come out and join us to check out all the course changes.

Yeah! Concrete!!

Let's just hope it's not blowing 50 mph and raining this year.

Will the tournament layout (temps included or at least tees marked) be in place by Friday afternoon?

we will try to start league at 5, but if there are out of towners interested in coming in we could push it back a little. the course plays fairly quickly so we should be ok with daylight.

hopefully the city has those three baskets in today. they were pulled last night when we were out there back filling. the temp holes should be marked by Friday. We were discussing some different possibilities last night.

I am moving up I just had cash to pay for novice at the time.

Cali helped me out last night....that was the first time I have shot under par ever.

I could play novice cuz that where the ratings put me remember.

I suppose this means that even should a miracle occur and I actually score well on Saturday, I'm resigned to no better than second place?

Everyone who's planning on coming better get registered real soon. And if you don't do that, you'd better get here bright and early Saturday morning because this thing is gonna fill! And you can bet on a solid tourney with Dynamic Discs behind the wheel of this one!

Peter Pan Park is over 80 years old, and has the scenery and trees to prove it! It's there in memory of William Allen White's daughter Mary who passed away at the age of 16. It's called Peter Pan park because just like the Disney character, "Peter Pan", Mary never wanted to grow up. And a lot of us disc golfers would say the same thing!

With brand new tee-pads, some redesigned holes, a couple added temp holes (including an island shot to the old stone amphitheater!) this is going to be the best Monkey yet!

Everyone in Emporia welcomes you and wishes you the best of luck in the 4th Annual Monkey Island Open. And don't forget to Throw Some D's On It!

All of the course improvements are done! The concrete tee pads are now in and the baskets that needed moved are in the ground.

I hope everyone is excited about this tournament. The weather right now says 66 degrees and sunny with winds around 20 mph which is just another average day in Kansas.

We will be at the course tomorrow evening taking registrations. The three temporary tee's will be marked and the basket locations marked as well. There will be a 7A, 7B, and 8A. 7A will throw to the Amphitheater (island green with drop zone if missed), 7B along the pond on the path and then 8A will be very similar to the old hole 9. Hole 8 will play in to Monkey Island and this will play as an island green too with a drop zone if missed.

We might even have circles painted thanks to Wiggins! He's been doing some new form of drugs I guess! Some weird mix of acetone, rit dye, and Bush Light! Weird  Watch out for this guy in the Open division!

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

Yeah all you have to do is mix the 3 together and breath the fumes for 80 hours a week in a small nonventalated room while Rusco complains about one thing or another in the background.

Next thing you know you're leaving stupid posts about the history of Peter Pan Park and playing Open!
