KDGA 06??? What do you want to see?
KDGA 06??? What do you want to see?
It is about time to start talking about it. Please keep this serious. I will delete any obsene or rude posts.
Here are a few things that I think need to happen.
1) I think that we need to adjust the way we qualify for the KDGA finals. I would like to see it more like the USGGC. Pick several events that are qualifiers. Try to spread them all over the state, and take 3-5 people from each event. I also think that these events should be PDGA B-tier events (Wichita, Emporia, Hays). This would encourage more KDGA/PDGA participation.
2) I think that all KDGA TD's need to be KDGA members!!!!!!
3) I think that non-KDGA members should have to pay to play KDGA events. 2 to 3 dollars. This may encourage a few more people to sign up.
4) I would like to do the schedule like the PDGA does it. Pick the big events and schedule them (all the PDGA events, plus the Rock, Discs Unlimited, Beloit, any event that had more then 60 people) on their own weekend. Then if you want to host a KDGA event, contact the coordinator 1 month in advance and you in. We would have to divide the state into halves or thirds to avoid conflicts.
Please voice your opinions in a positve manner.
We need to get some things figured out, that way we can start off next season on a positive note.
I forgot one.
5) I would love to have a $$$$ report. We need someone to step up and volunteer to do this for us.

I will take that job... Smitty as an accountant I recommend that I do the books and bank reconciliations. I should have NO access to cash, that makes for the best situation....

Cool, you get the job. That is if nobody else has a problem with it.Notorious ROG wrote:I will take that job... Smitty as an accountant I recommend that I do the books and bank reconciliations. I should have NO access to cash, that makes for the best situation....
That takes care of that situation.

ROG does a great job handling the ACDGC's finances. He is the best guy for the job.
As far as 2006 goes, I like your suggestions. I still think that using the point system as qualification to a skins game would earn more participation throughout the year. Look at the points for this year vs. last year. Weren't they higher last year? The members were playing more events to stay competitive. I can see that we want to get new members involved, not just a select 12-15 for each division. Maybe we could use the points race to determine who gets to compete in a last qualifying event. Give the top 6 automatic bids to the skins game and let the next 12 or so play for the last 6 spots in this second to last event. You've probably heard my opinion on this one a gazillion times. Just seems like the "Skins Match" generates more reputation than a regular tourney with a "Bonus Payout." The challenging course also gives everyone a shot at some cash.

I don't think charging people for KDGA events will bring more people into the KDGA. That is one of the reasons I did not make Norton a PDGA event because the locals would not play! Now if they know there is a "fee" for KDGA, they will walk home. They would just as soon play later on in the evening for free. That is just my local scene. It might work better elswhere.
