If they want to steal your baskets, they are going to steal your baskets.

The lock is just there to slow them down a little.

They are probably all going to rust shut over time, unless you buy the high dollar waterproof locks.

Most places use just the standard Master Lock. I have seen people put a ton of grease in the key hole, I don't know if that does any good?

Are you getting ready to put the course in?

I still think that it would be Kick Butt to hold the GB tourney there.

15-20 minutes each!

You will want to keep one of them broken down until the end. You will need 1 pole to put in each sleeve to make sure it is square. Pull it out, move on the next one. Let them sit for 24 hours, put the basket in an bingo!

We have used Master locks for years. They do take some maintenance. Mostly a shot with WD40 or some other lock lubricant occasionally. They just crap out after a while and need to be replaced. We buy a couple boxes of locks every couple years. Swap out the old ones and replace with new ones. Some of the old ones get rehabed and can be used again.

Using Master locks makes it easy to replace worn out locks. We get them all keyed the same and they run around $8 or $9 a lock. The locks last at least 5 years, often much longer.

If someone REALLY wants that basket, they will get it. In some instances the thieves have sawed the pole off at ground level to get the basket. Like my dad used to say, the lock keeps the honest folks honest.
