My friend Bowe Wingerd recently moved from Wichita to Springfield. He recommended this place to a few DG'ers in Wichita. Everything was beyond expectation... There was a great environment, great camping, great meals, great people, great organization, GREAT COURSES!

The long outer course was spectacular. A truly great layout. I commend the designer. Considering how dense the vegetation is in the Ozarks, the open playing area was remarkably large. Downhill bombs, perilous OB road on holes 8-11, holes where fairway placement was key, pin placement near or on top of HUGE ROCKS... these were the kind of elements that make this course stand out. Without my mulligans, my score probably would have blown up.

You guys have got to see this place! 2 permanent 18 hole courses with tons of other stuff to do like horseback riding, bluff climbing, trail hiking, canoeing down one of the best rivers in America.... There is a PDGA event going down in October. Make it a four day weekend!

Kansas disc golfers in Arkansas? Don't go alone... Dere be Hillbillies in dem dere woods!

Where did we go?

Horshoe Canyon Ranch, just west of Jasper. About 6.5 hours from Wichita. PDGA forum has a thread on this tournament under NW Arkansas affiliate club.

Wichita kicked some butt. There were 12 of us who went.

I was the only girl, but I beat at least five guys there.

Mike and Iqbal both placed,
Scuba steve took first and Ring took fourth and Bowe placed somewhere in there too.

John and Luke tied for first in novice

Dave held up third place, but he still got beat by a girl

Willis must be put to shame too. I;m not sure where he finished, but I beat him the first round. How embarrasing  You guys might want to watch out this year; my game is improving.

Yes I will be in Ponca. I would love to see another girl there. I was the only one there last year. Those Ponca guys hooked me up with the payout. Maybe I can bring Little Debbie Snack Cakes too!

I'm pi$$ed off at Scuba & dIqbal & Schoenhopper & all the ICT boys who went to OURKansas without me, looks like you guys had a blast. Scuba told me all about it as he kick my arse this week at Oak. Scuba says mark your calendar for the week after the friz cuz theres another tourney at the horseshoe. Man that is going to make this ol man hurt 2 weeks of partying & discing, can't wait.

My home boys at Love Box went to horseshoe last fall to rock climb & disc, so I had already heard that that place ROCKED.
