Team Rodiek Pasture Course!!!!!

Post by _dm4 »

I traveled to Kearney NE on Sat. with my family. The reason; for them, shopping. For me, Disc Golf! I met Dusty, Carol, and Jake (what's up with Kella these days, anyway? :? By the way, they showed me a little of the 2004 worlds dvd, where she is getting her world champ. trophy! 8) ) at their house, out in the country, west of Kearney. A couple of other golfers came out for the round also and we drove over to the course. I was impressed! This course has a good selection of holes that include elevation, tunnels, a pond, elevation, some long holes, elevation, lots of trees, elevation, and oh, elevation. One hole to me was like I have seen on some videos where you have to pick your spot to land, and then get to the pin, if you can make it through the trees! Very well designed! You get to walk up and down a lot for some cool looks. One of the best things about this 9 basket course is the alt tees are from very different locations. In other words, after you play nine, you are not playing back to basket one on hole 10! I was lost the entire time (which is not unusual!!!)!

I want to play this course when it is green, and Brian said (one of the guys that played) the tourney is on May 8. May 7 is at Cottonmill, which is another great course! I believe he said they would be PDGA D-Tiers so make plans to play (open dates on the KDGA Schedule, I believe!) I recommend both courses! Can't wait to go back and play them again. Oh, and watch out for Jake! He can really chuck some plastic!!! 8)

Both are bad ass courses. Cottonmill is arguebly the best in NE. I would recomend playing both anytime you are in the area!!

I have played Cottonmill at least three times now. On the short pins I shot 1 over! :D I won't go into what I shot the times they were mixed.

I would like to play some Nebraska Disc Golf this year. Keep us updated on this.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

The Nebraska Schedule

Check out Nebdisc.com for the latest on Nebraska events.

There is the Spring Fever Fling in April (Omaha), the Kearney back to backs in early May. The Star City Shoot Out in Lincoln on Memorial Day weekend. A Call to Arms in Omaha in Aug.

These are the PDGA sanctioned events I know of right now. Of course there are more on the list and others will surely be added.

Alway good to see you Kansas folks up in Nebraska!!
