PDGA?

I am thinking about making Norton a C-tier and was wondering if you golfers would want more PDGA tourneys, or if you would rather not pay the extra money in fees. I know some of you are PDGA members and would not have to pay the $5.00.

On the down side, I would have to pay $50.00 (someone told me $30.00, but I read $50.00 on the pdga site), plus $2.00 per person (PDGA fee on top of the $2.00 per person KDGA fee), which would add to fairly high expenses as it is. There could also be up to a $50.00 cost for insurance.

On the plus side, if you are in the PDGA, this could help your rating! It could also pull more golfers from NE or other places that would like to play in another PDGA event.

Vote! Also explain why you voted like you did and other factors that I might be missing. It might actually make a difference in what I decide to do.

Norton is one of the best KDGA events of the year last year, at least I thought, you could loose the extra activities going on in the park, but over all a great tourny, and a GREAT course, glad I got to play it for the first time last year.
So I vote yes, PDGA good.

I too think Norton would be derserving of PDGA status.... I will probably come regardless, but if it were a PDGAer, I would for sure come!

Another $2.00 from each person probably wouldn't be missed. Most of the people from Norton are not PDGA or KDGA members. The $5.00 extra is going to piss them off, they will not understand what is going on. Don't forget the $30.00 sactioning fee ontop of the $2.00 per person.

I say give it a trial run and see how it goes. I plan on making both Ransom and DC PDGA. If they ever send me my test.

I would definately say to go PDGA "C" sanction this year. Since the PDGA is the "national" organization for Disc Golf, it benefits the sport in general to support the PDGA. Also, it might help bring some PDGA members to the tournament since they will be able to get points.

I would suggest that you try to get additional sponsors to cover the additional costs. That way, the participation fees can more easily fall in the recommended PDGA ranges and still have good pay-outs.

You may want to check out D-tier status. I don't think that the payout requirements are as much as for C-tier. It is for first time PDGA events, not necessarily first time events.
