That's an interesting list. Ben Maass is probably the least proven of this bunch, yet has as much potential as any on the list. He has a flick that goes farther than many pro backhand shots. He can throw a backhand 500+ feet at will. His putt is one of the purest... fast and dead straight while on a hyzer angle and dropping. He's finally picking up the mid-range to control some of that excessive speed. I think he'll start showing more of his ability when he doesn't let himself get so t'd off.

Other players that might make the top 10...

Marc "Heddy" Hedstrom. I've only seem him play a coupld of times, but I was pretty impressed.

Sandman. I was looking at the 1999 KDGA year end points standings. He got his name for a good reason.

Chris Denderent. This guy has the smoothest throw I've ever seen. He doesn't play disc golf regularly. He's more into throwing lids. While his tournament play hasn't been that impressive, he occasionally gets hot rounds where he makes everything inside 50' and sets a course record.


Honerable mention... Scott Reek, Grant Hodges, Jon Cunningham, Robert Hammersmith, Chris Greenleaf, Chuck Smith, any of those top KC golfers that happen to reside on the Kansas side.

I woulda had Clint Donaldson on there if he hadn't messed up his back.

I think Jeff redirected the topic to be "best players in KS history". If that was the case, it wouldn't matter where anyone lives now or how they play these days.

It's a hard thing to determine though. I'm looking at it more like scoring potential. Maybe a better way would be to look at consistent performance. There are a lot of players that play consistently good enough to beat the more flashy / flukey players. Randy Brown and Two Away are good examples.

PDGA rating at any one time would be a good measure. Problem is most of these people aren't even in the PDGA.

Downtown would most likely get my vote for the all time category, but Eric only has a few years of solid golf to catch him, and Babbit is strong on the list too,

I am basing this on tournament performance, Heddy is a studd, but he doesnt play the events to make the grade. Duce is also a baller, he does not make the events that show his skills either,

What about Harvey? that guy has just owned the masters division for as long as I remember...

3. Smitty (most improved by far, no question)
