I think reminding people at key Tournies of the KDGA by having supplemental payouts from membership fees, for paid members, would be cool. Why save it all to the end, why not pick certain events and have KDGA member only payouts or bonuses or giveaways or etc. on top of the normal purses.

Pick some key KDGA membership tournies with good attendance...

Colwich Feb "Early bird payout"
Herrington April "Time Change payout"
Wichita May "Riverfest payout"
Belloite June "Barbeque Payout" (this one is already being done free food.)
Emporia July "Glass Blown payout"
Hays Sept "Frontier payout"
Friz Oct "Party Time payout"
Salina Dec "Year End payout" this one is already being done, but we should spread money over the year at some of the other tournies

This would be a friendly reminder of the benefits of KDGA membership all year long and these could serve as membership drive tournaments. I like the idea of emphasing the KDGA by giving something out at Key Events.

This is not meant to slight smaller tournies but membership drives need to be held where the most people are available to be sold on the benefits of KDGA....

These tournies could also serve as key times for us to hold business meetings, thanks ROG

That's a good idea ROG. I would hope that the KDGA's supplement wouldn't replace any possible sponsorship. If we can generate enough $ to make a difference at these tourneys, it would make a difference towards attendance and hopefully membership.

The PDGA TD report has a spot for entering regional and local fees. Looks like collecting regional fees at events is a fairly common thing among tournaments nation wide.

Thinking back to the bowling days, there are often club/establishment fees, state fees, and PBA fees too. Looks like disc golf is maturing in its fee structure as have other (mostly) recreational sports.

Hurry up and get this stuff figured out so perhaps NebDisc can have regional memberships and fees to help promote the sport too. :)

Anybody familar with the Southern Nationals fee structure and hierarchy?

What is the KDGA? I asked the local players, (No Idea, Some kind of Disc golf club, some knew what the letters stand for). My point is I am a member but I don't promote the KDGA. With news letters, reports money and events, or even flyers on what the KDGA is doing for the disc golf in kansas would help me promote. The idea of 2-3$ for none members is very negative I don't think that is promoting KDGA in a glad to have you join us way. I being an AM player also feel that some times Pros forget where there pay outs are coming from, piss off the AMs Pro cash well be real weak. I also know it takes people to make it work, its alot easier to watch and bitch as to get invovled. I feel the People running the KDGA are doing the best they can, they need help! Tell me what I can do. Thanks Dave

Some people that play KDGA events do so because they like the more relaxed environment. Beer during rounds is legal in the KDGA.

Dave-

I think that very few tourneys take money from the AM divisions and boost the Open payout.

And some people in the KDGA don't want to have to deal with a EFF'N drunk during or after a round that can not control their consumption. imo

I do know that has turned possible new players away. And the illegal actions being done also. imo

The KDGA does not promote any "illegal actions"! At any rate, on that point, I am with you. I do think that most disc golfers that want to indulge in these kinds of things do so off the course. Then there are still those that do whatever they want. This has always bugged me, but I usually don't get very upset unless it's in a PDGA event, which has not happened.

Beer drinking at a KDGA event has never been a problem, imo. I have played many rounds where people are having a few beers and it's not a big deal.

I'm not saying it is a big deal. I would just like to have more PDGA events in Kansas.

How is Thad? Is he going to make it to the tourney this year? I remember having to talk him out of "puttin a whuppin" on Dusty a couple years back.

I know that the 3 tournies that I hosted this year, Pro $$ came from Pro entries.

Norton tourney-

Added cash from sponsors for pro divisions. No money taken from am divisions (money was added to am divisions for prizes!).

Apparently you've never played w/ Thad in Manhattan.
