Sounds like a lot is on the line here. What is the cut-off age for junior? What declares am or pro status? We have a few players that play pro in KDGA events and am in PDGA events. It does sound like fun, but what if some key players can't make it or what if Goodland wins the event for next year? Wouldn't that have a negative effect on our attendance for all of next year? Would the schedule be upset if some team other than Wichita or Salina won, or would the other town just schedule an extra event? What if 3 guys from Hays play on a 5 man (total) team from Salina? Who gets to host? Just a few questions we should clarify if this is for real.
I think the point system you mentioned was good with perhaps one small amendment. Giving teams that tie the lower of the 2 places that they are tying for, for example 1st and 2nd would both get first would be slightly unfair to the rest of the competition because they are both earning half a point extra for free. A solution would be either determining some resolution to who gets what place (as in the total points tie scenario) or by giving the tying teams the "average" of the places rather than the "lowest" of the tying places. 1st and 2nd place tie would both earn 1.5 points for both teams. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th would all earn 3 points, ect. That way the numbers add up to the correct totals in the end and no one gets free points.

abilene tourney
Will anyone get to play even if you dont have a team. I would rather play singles if possible, and who is gonna run the Manhattan tourney.
Pros shouldn't play as Ams, but like any tourney it is their call in the end. Some towns may not have enough people to field a full team, so they can borrow a player from another town if needed.
If we could get a big enough crew from Winfield to go, we may be able to field 2 teams.

You only need 2 OPEN and Am players. The third person is a "pusher".
Who all is going? Lets get it figured out.

If needed huh? I hear your "surprise person" may not be from Winfield, even though you listed a ton of Open people from Winfield. Seems like you would not "need" to get a person from another town... or statesmitty wrote:Some towns may not have enough people to field a full team, so they can borrow a player from another town if needed.
Just pokin fun.. I really don't care where you get your teammates from.. just razzin ya a little for your team choice
