Wish I could come, I have been told that it is a kick-butt course.

Where is it on the big map?

On the detailed view, what is the Wigger area just south of the dis(k) golf course?

It is at Pomona Lake, free side, at the Wolf Creek park.

I saw some awesome golf this weekend! This course is so cool. It needs to be a 2 1/2 day festival-style deal with Friday dubs and Saturday BBQ. Private camp area with water, electricity, shower house (with hot water), flushing toilets! The parks people were completely stoked that we were there on their new course and offered to take our input seriously. And they didn't charge us a dime to use that campground. We got lucky it wasn't reserved. They gave me the info to reserve it in advance for next year's date.

17 players - not a bad tournout for a first-year tourney. Masters were well represented! Devon & 2K finished 1 stroke apart and Eric pretty well spanked the course.

Thank you, everyone, for all the help! I'd be happy to run this thing next year again and if I don't, I'll be there camping & playing!

Were both rounds on the free side? If so, did the pins change between rounds?

Yep - both on the free side. We played the same course twice. There are other possibilities with a little creativity and time...

Was there really a designated Wigger area?

I did indeed see a Wigger Area sign. I should've snapped a pic! Well next time... :P

This was an example of some of the best disc golf holes in Kansas. It couldn't have been a more perfect day either. The weather was warm, the winds were calm to non existant, the grass was mowed as if each blade was cut with scissors and the trees displayed their fall glory. What a sight to rip a drive and see it in the air for what seemed like forever and still not be to the pin. There were reachable holes with a good drive and holes that needed a couple of drives to reach. This is a course that one has to place a drive for the next shot as most baskets are out of reach except for the long driving pros. If you like to rip a disc; play Pamona. Not every hole is great but there are plenty to challenge your game.

That's excellent criticism from Mr. Course Designer. I had to work or I would have tried to make it. What is the other side compared to the free side?

Pomona wolf creek is really a neat course, Bruce hudson laid out the original nine holes, they would be holes 1-4 and 14-18 now. the parks people had 0 input on the other 9 holes and I think they did a fantastic job, the course is really well kept so far and they have been very receptive to input. I think the plan is to make a few alternate placements and install some benches on the course, ( I told them trash cans will help too) If you have a chance to play it at night wolf creek is great, I think shots in the tall grass are a lot easier to find with the stick taped on the disc. In addition it is so dark out there the moon just absolutley lights the place up you can see most of the pins and the way the grass is cut you really get an appreciation for the land and the course.

The free side is CRAP...

It was put in by Bruce and Todd, the holes are great for what they wanted a short 9 hole course that people can have fun on, it is the holes are all 300 or less (ok hole 9 might be 360) they all have straight shots or hyzers to the pins and it is fun to see how drunk you can get and still shoot par out there.

Overall I would advise you to skip the pay side save the 7.50 for parking and buy glowsticks and play wolf creek all day and night.

Hole 5 at wolf creek has a playground in play which should always be treated as OB for safety concerns... There are also fairways which are very close together, but still well defined and non-overlapping. We played "mandatory UD if you land on someone else's mowed fairway" to discourage stray shots.

The Tee Signs need to be uprooted and moved about 12 feet to the right on every hole.

Other than these items, I think it's perfect. I think night golf on that course would indeed rock!

Q, you said the free side is crap and then you said skip the pay side. Which one is it? They said they played the free side, so I'm guessing free is good.
