Do you mean how match play works?Ruder wrote:We're doing match play this year? Can someone give me the lowdown on the details, or direct me to a link.
I know that you guys do it in Hays at the little course.
So I will guess that you mean how do you qualify.
We are going to take the top 1/3 in each division. This is based on points. We are also taking the top person from each region if they are not in already. That way every region has the chance to have a person in the finals.
We are also going to let 2 more people in on the last chance qualifier. We are going to take the top overall KDGA Open and Am finisher and let them play. This could be a person who signs-up that day, or a person who has been a member and not earned enough points.
There will be a payout based on finish in each divison.
We will then take the overall champs of each division and let them duke it out in a "super challenge".
Let me know if this helps out.

Match play is pretty simple.DiscGolfKid wrote:smitty wrote:Do you mean how match play works?
Yeah.
You and whoever you are playing will go out on the course. You are not keeping total score, you are trying to win a hole.
If you 2 a hole, and I 3 it. You win the hole. You are now up 1-0
We play hole 2, and I beat you on this one. We are now all square (tied).
We play hole 3 and both get a 3. We are still all square.
We play hole 4 and you beat me. You are up 1.
We play hole 5 and you beat me again. You are up 2.
As soon as someone is up more then the number of holes that are left, that match is over.
Does that help?

Mike I am not following you????
The top 1/3 of each division gets in. Open, Master, Advanced, AmII, Women. If they are all from the same reason, it doesn't matter. Then each region also gets 1 free spot in each division. So if the top 1/3 are all from region 2. Regions 1, 3, 4, 5 would all get an at large birth.

That was the part I didn't get. I thought only the top pro and am from each region got in. Potentially, it would be possible to send 30 members from regional winners alone. If we had 9 in each division, 100% of the players could make it into the finals. All kidding aside, this does encourage growth in other areas of the state.smitty wrote: The top 1/3 of each division gets in. Then each region also gets 1 free spot in each division.
