I think having a masters division at league is ok. If your over 40 and can compete in OPEN then it's your own decision which division to play in. Personally, if I show up and there are more MASTERS than OPEN, I'm going for the higher payout. If i show up and there is more OPEN players than MASTERS and I think I can can compete, I'll play OPEN. It sucks to get old, so have a little respect for your elders and let em play where they want.
I don't play AM because there is a better payout, I'm PRO so I play PRO, no matter how many there are. I just think Masters ought to start their own division, and stay playing in your own division. It's just crap when there was 20 PRO's but 10 of them had little weiners, so they decided to go masterbate.
Before you say anything here's one more for ya. When it's my time, if I still have it in me to keep playing pro,I WILL still play PRO, but if for some reason I grow a weiny arm and can only drive 300'-350', then you will still be donating you money to the SCOOBA foundation. But by that time you guy's will be playing in the VIAGRA & WALKER division.
Enjoy getting older.

AHH to be young and Opinionated.
There is a reason it is an age protected division. My .02 is that these guys should be allowed to play whatever division they are eligable to play. The same argument could be said for solid advanced players under 16 should they have to play Advanced or allowed to whoop up on the other kids if they want? I look at players like Ronverse and Laron those guys can definatly compete in open on any given day but if they show up at an event and the money is better in masters they would be foolish not to follow the cash.
If you want to keep the parity in the divisions you as a TD or event coordinator have to provide a bigger incentive to play open. move a higher percentage of added cash to the open and dont add as much to the masters. As far as league goes the way most clubs do league in Kansas this really should be a non issue, I know in topeka if someone wants to play masters that is cool, Entry fee is $5 a buck to club and a buck to ace so payout is $3 from every player in a division so show up be the only master win and get 65% of your entry back...

One good thing about having the option to play in the master's division is that you can avoid having to play with immature individuals, such as Steve here, that find it difficult to have a conversation without insulting people in a juvenile fashion. If this comment is indicitive of your attitude about this your opinion holds no water with me anyway. Grow up... this is a public forum and this rhetoric only serves to make you look foolish.$c0oBa wrote:It's just crap when there was 20 PRO's but 10 of them had little weiners, so they decided to go masterbate.
And masturbate is spelled with a U, a Freudian slip on your part perhaps?

You better quit pissing Kevin off!!!
Scooba isn't as big a weinie in real life.
That's sounded bad, didn't it? I meant it as a defense. He just likes to stir the shizzit. I tend to do that myself.
I agree with Q about this one. As far as league goes, we need to focus on getting more people playing. It does seem kind of silly for masters to split off and then we have 3 people per division, but it wouldn't be so bad if more people were showing up. I have no problem with people going back and forth as this is completely their decision.

I`ve been playing wichita club and the oz tour as well as the PDGA since 91.If it wasn`t for us masters, there wouldn`t be discgolf in Wichita and there would be less courses statewide.Quit crying and hope that you might contribute half as much as the Masters have in Kansas.
When you have to choose between your woman and discgolf, don`t be stupid-choose the discgolf.
Maybe you guys should have a team tourny. Pros vs Masters. Match Play PYP Doubles. 2 Rounds of 18, Differant format for each 9. On a short course so the best disc golfer wins (Not the biggest arm) Who knows this could be the next big tourny in Kansas. Welcome to the first annual Kansas Pros. vs Masters. Showdown!! For supreme bragging rights of the two mens cash paying divisions. And a traveling trophy that goes to the winning Division Each year.
