I mean, by experienced flicker, is somebody that uses sidearm for the majority of their game. I haven't met you, or seen your game, so i'm not trying to talk crap, but with my crippled arm I can flick a Challenger 300 so comparing a Pred to that shouldn't be the distance you should be getting sidearm.

Like you said, you can easily get more snap from a sidearm, which is the reason alot of beginners use it. With the proper technique, you should be getting more D sidearm than backhand. And I'm just guessing but you can throw a Pred. more than 300 backhand right?

As for the T-rex? the closest I can think of is a problem from bodybuilders, and gymnasts, which is just the opposite of what would come from over-extending flicking.

The same goes for me to you. Call me skeptical but with flight mechanics of a challenger compared to the characteristics a flick adds to the flight pattern (spin, snap, stability) I find it hard to believe you are throwing 300 with it. I'm sure its well possible as any die hard flicker would somehow find a way, but still, a challenger is too touchy for that. It would take an extreme hyzer with some extreme heigth on it to get those kind of results.

However, with that in mind I would say on flat ground it would come out to a number more like 270 maybe 280. Taking that into consideration a shot that goes awry that will most likely drop your distance to more like 260 - 270.

Keep in mind I'm very conservative on distances. I'll only quote myself throwing 350 maybe 375 backhand.

On a lighter note, here is a good story I like from Stokely.

During a major tournament at the Great Lakes Open I was having a great battle with Ken Climo )we ended up tying and going to sudden death). During round two we stepped up to a right-turning hole that is very simple for left-handed players or for right-handers with a sidearm. I went first and put my sidearm drive under the basket; I assumed that I would gain a stroke on Ken because he has no sidearm. But ken stpped onto the tee pad and threw his drive right under the basket as well ... left handed! I'd never seen him try that shot before and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so I did both.

I didn't say I would do it as a golf shot, or even consistantly, but yes with height and hyzer, it's totaly possible, but the point of that was to compare the pred. remark you had made, if you can throw 350-375 backhand, then as an experienced flicker, you should be throw a pred the same and more likely, farther sidearm.
Furthermore, the flight mechanics will be different flicking, but that is also what I meant by "experienced flicker" a person who uses sidearm constantly will be able to control a disc just as well as a person who throws backhand.

I know there are some sidearm people on here that can flick a putter 300 no prob tho.

Btw, hope you haven't taken offense to these posts, I'm not questioning your abilities, I know for a fact you're a better disc golfer than I am,(for now) I was just tellin the kid to take care of his arm.

Nils probably won't win, and for that matter, I don't know how hell do since he will be one of the youngest in the <16 age group. Anyway, I think it would be fun to see Nate, Logan, and Nils play together. Where do they live??
Thanks for all the responses. Nils is a member of the pdga, I signed him up a couple weeks ago, so he will be ready to go.
