WOW! WHAT AN AMAZING TURNOUT! 106 PEOPLE!!!
I don’t even really know what to say. Thanks to everyone for coming out. 106 PEOPLE! SERIOUSLY!!!! That doubled my expectations and hopefully exceeded yours. I think MACE said this was the 2nd or 3rd largest KDGA event of the year!
A big thanks goes out to Eric McCabe who got everything up and going. Without his guidance this event would not have taken place. MACE MAN also showed up and saved the day. We would have been in the cold until midnight figuring out payout without his help. Thanks to everyone else who helped out in any way, to Emporia for having such kick ass courses and willing to have another event on them; Nathan Martin and Hammer were a huge help with the scorecards. And one last thanks to my parents for their support!
For this being my first event I have to say I was a bit overwhelmed with everything. A lot goes into putting on an event. I learned a lot. If you thought this was a good one then the next one will be a great one! Fundraising and sponsorship will be the major difference in the next event. Things will also be a lot more organized so I hope to see everyone again. I’ll find a way to make the payout huge!
All apologizes for not having the $1 CTP and putting competitions on Saturday. We really didn’t have any time to get things going. They were held on Sunday with the DISCatcher Sport going to McCabe in a playoff with Smitty and the Chainstar going to Hammer with an ace.
Since I ran out of shirts if anyone needs one just get in touch with me. I can also get you a sweatshirt, hat, or anything else.
Congrats to Smitty and all of the other top place finishers! Give it up to Disc Golf TV (DGTV) for making the long trip and hopefully getting some footage online.
THANKS AGAIN FOR COMING OUT AND MAKING MY FIRST EVENT SUCH A SUCCESS! I hope everyone had a great time!

Great courses, cool people, and a laid back atmosphere all made for a very enjoyable tournament. If that was the first tournament you've put on...then you've set the bar pretty high. Thanks to everyone that put the work in to make this tournament one of the best I've ever been to. We'll definitely be back again next year!
Some stats in case you didn't know where "it" is at.
Emporia Glass Blown - 121 people
Dynamic Discs Open - 106 people.
Monkey Island Open - 52 people
Emporia Doubles - 50 people
I do not think any city in Kansas can compete with this.
All of these are PDGA events. There were only 11 PDGA events in KS this year. 36% of Kansas's pdga Touraments were in Emporia, and also had the top two highest attended tournaments.
I believe there are also 3 sponsored players in Emporia (4 if you'd like to count Babbit

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

It wasn't 5 min after the Colorado boys left my house that this was posted. HE HE HE HE
Kinda cool how in Open there was a +4,5,5,6,7,8,9
and in Adv. it went from +5 - +19 in order.
Pretty close race in there.
