KDGA membership

Seems like since the bonus payout has nothing to do with the points, it shouldn't matter when you join as far as getting all of your points go. Maybe doing it that way would encourage procrastination and the membership wouldn't get rolling, or maybe it would get more members later in the year. Though it would be a better representation of how players did throughout the year, it would be a pain in the butt to refigure points everytime someone joined "late".
I can see that people are still interested in the points system. We should give the players a goal to keep attendence high. Is the Kassner Cup still going to go to the highest point total?

What about Emac? He is now a member. Should he get points for Wyco, Topeka, Doh Dah, Discs Unlimited, and Peter Pan?
If you guys are going to give one person points for a tourny, then the others that signed up after playing tourys should get the points they did not get

What if they wanted to sign up at the tournys they played before, but did not knowhow. They should get those points shouldn't they?Schoen-hopper wrote:It sounds like they wanted to sign up, but didn't know how to do so. This is one tourney that they'd be getting points for, not several like we allow everyone to get points for earlier in the year.

Lamdin... nip it in the butt right now! No rules are being broken, and nothing is changing.
Both players contacted me IMMEDIATELY after the Doo Dah saying they wanted to sign up there.. but it wasn't readily available. That is good enough for me. Like I said earlier.. Doo Dah isn't the most laid back tourney, and being the size it is, and at 2 courses, it just wasn't feasible for most people to find Brando (or the time) to sign up.
Shoenhopper hit the nail on the head above... one of the MAJOR reasons the rule is in place that you have to be a member before a tourney to get points for it (after Herington) is because it is a huge pain in the ass to go back everytime a new player signs up and find every KDGA tourney he/she has played in, and retabulate EVERYONE'S points... trust me.. I know because I do this before Herington, and even then (with a smaller amount of tourneys to look back on) it's a lot of extra work.
There is enough crap being flung on this message board..... go do it in another thread

I would like to see the figures that Bob used.
I know all about the fees that you have to take out.
We are talking $55.00 * 17 players in Open = $935.00
I don't know what the total payout was, but it couldn't have been much more. You do have to figure in the skins money ($90.00).
If there was close to 1000.00 added cash. I think it would have been best to divide it based on %. If there were 6 pros, 3 masters, and 1 women. I would have given open $600, Masters 300, and women $100.
I would never add cash to the AM divisions (that should P!$$ some people off). You make $$ off of the Ams already. Unless you value your plastic at the $7.00 you pay for a Z disc.
The bottom line, if you want to get the big names to travel any distance, you are going to have to reward them better. You will always get the Kansas Pros, with a few that are super freaks (Babbit and Eric, we will even include Ronverse) The George Smiths and Coda Hatfields, can make more $$$ over a weekend by playing closer to home.
Where did Geroge stay? Motel?? Entry fee $60.00, Motel for a nite $50.00, food $30.00, gas to drive from Columbia $40.00. That is $180.00, how much did he win?
I thought the tourney was better then it has been in the past, I think that it will grow and be better in the years to come.

Careful now Smitty didn't you win "A ROC" at KCWO as I remember you weren't happy about the Am payout. So KCWO "Should make money from the Am's?"
Am's represent the majority of who attended over 2 to 1 to pros. We will look at how things went & adjust, but we are indeed trying to make Doo Dah a must attend tourney. Next Year I will work even harder to get more sponsors, so play nice and we don't intend to screw the Am's or the Pro's.....
thanks Roger

Points for Doo Dah
Hey, can we figure a way for a non-playing TD to get points for Doo Dah.
I want/need/gotta have those KDGA points to stay ahead of the rest of the "Old Am Men Pack"
(yeah I know Dyck was 1 point ahead of me before Doo Dah but he didn't play either).
Of course, just kidding.
Back to work.

Wow! I would have never thought of that.
They're now on the PDGA site.
