My group managed to do that at the Salina Ice Bowl since none of us were familiar with the layout...
We had only played one hole so we went back and played it right after we realized it....

Hmmm, I can't say anything either way....my morning group tried to skip #9 as well....but we did figure it out before we teed off on 10 and went back and played 9. Therefore, no harm no foul.....

Funny thing was that all of us said that we had never had a similar situation happen to us. I guess you have to play for a long time, say until you're playing at the pro level, until something RANDOM like that happens.
