Notorious ROG wrote: I say take nominations or volunteers for officiers & elect a BOD, then let them handle the stuff. There tend to be too many opinions & not enough folks handling the details. If you want to make a difference then you run for an office and do the work. The BOD could meet periodically and decide the direction of KDGA.
Why?

I think that everything runs pretty smooth. If anyone has a problem or concern they can easily get in touch with Mace or I.

I think that it would be more of a hassle then it is worth. Who is going to run for these positions?

If anyone wants my duties, I would be glad to let you have them.

I think you misunderstand my position on this, it is an attempt to get you guys more help, I doubt anyone would run against you. How does the KDGA grow without more horse power? BOD is to provide you guys more people to help, not to take your place, I would hope you guys would run for positions & you would easily win!!!!!!! But there is more than enough work to do & I think there are people who would help if they could be part of a BOD.

But if you 2 want all the work it's yours......

Rog-

I understand where you are coming from 100%.

I just don't think that there is a need to organize an election. If someone wants to help out with anything, just tell Mace or I.

I will always be part of the KDGA, and will do what ever I can to help it get bigger and better. I just think that we are about as big as we are going to get.

The people who care, sign up. Even if they only play a few tournies a year.

Well put.......

Smitty the problem with "Just tell me or Mace" lacks organization...... imo. How far has "word of mouth" got the kdga in the past??? Thats pretty much how the kdga was ran until SR took over years ago. I think its been established that "word of mouth" does not work well in most circumstances.

I got two questions........

1. What happened to this "non-profit" status deal someone was working on???
2. What about the spreadsheet as to where these membership fees are going??? Where is the money going??? I want to see it on paper not by "word of mouth".

Not trying to piss anybody off jus wanna kno........

At last years meeting, we discussed this for about 30 minutes.

Rog and Bob have both worked with this in the past. They both thought that it would not be worth it at this time. We trusted their point of view.

As far as the spreadsheet, that was going to happen also. I don't know why or where it is. I think that it is also a great idea for everyone to know what is going on with the $$$ made and spent by the KDGA.

That is out of my league. No $$$ comes or leave via the Smith ranch.

The only reason I brought that up is b/c I think people fell that they dont actually know where the $ is going. I jus kinda think it would change some ppl's view of the KDGA.

One of the things I used to do to display where the KDGA financial situation was currently at, was to have a page on the home page that gave details about the where the money goes. It would show, KDGA Funds, Supplies, Skins Money and what ever else the money would go too. It not only showed where the money was going but also let people know how much the KDGA had at the end of the year and people could also see how much was built up for the end of the year skins.

As much as I hate to agree with Sandman  (LOL), having a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement for the KDGA would be great. :D

I think members would appreciate them and they would halt a lot of the various questions that circulate. 8) Just like a publicly traded company, the details shouldn't be made public but the financial statements should be. :)

This is another good reason for an elected board. The work and responsibilty would be spread between more individuals.

At this point in time, I personally have no problems with how the KDGA is being run. :D This is just a little more food for thought. :)

P.S. As soon as I can get my work schedule slowed down, we plan on going for 501(c)(3) status for ACDGC. Once we get an answer there, we can look harder at the same thing for the KDGA. 8)
