Hello Q
Hello Q. Are you playing open yet? how is the baby?
well mr reek I am making the journey down the open road. I played a very solid advanced tournament this weekend in Lincoln. I finished 7th and cash went to 5th. Overall I am pleased I beat Becket, LaRon, Blake Needles, and Sandman.
It is a learning process for me I can not make myself go for it the way you need to to shoot in the 40's each round....

ok I guess you do not have to shoot in the 40's all four if your average is in the 40's that works too. I think I shot 9 for the tournament and E-mac shot 16 sunday and like 10 on saturday. something like that anyway. I am just thinking that 4 rounds of 50 will not get it done most of the time and I am still trying to get the confidence to fire at those 30+ putts to get it into the correct scoring range.

Its not about who you beat. Your focusing on the wrong things! Look at your scores for the weekend. Its like riding a bike. First, Did you always compare your bike riding expieriences as, "I rode my bike better than tommy today" and the answer to that is no. Second, when riding your bike the first time, say you fell down 5 times, now the second day was your focus on falling down 6 times??? I think not.
Its also just as much about making that 30 foot scoring shot as it is about making that 15 foot par save 99% of the time.

as usual Leo you are correct. It is just frustrating to have played this game for as long as I have and not be better at what should be considered fundamentals. The thing with the lincoln tournament is that I just never could get focused and put together a great round I had 4 decent rounds and I did not play well enough to cash. I think that I gained a lot of experience and a little insight (watching Eric round 3 was an inspiration) I just have to learn to leave the last shot in the past and play a little more agressive.
what is the story on the candy ???
Input taken I have been making practice in the yard a priority more and more I am trying to spend about 20 minutes a day from 10-20 feet and 10-15 minutes a day from 30-50 feet. I think there may be a breakthrough in my putting very soon until last night I was putting with 10 mixed putters magnets aviars and some softies. Now that I have 5 challengers I am using them and the consistency looked better after just a few minutes so we will see.

First off, Leo is never right. This isn't info I just made up myself, some great golfers have told me this and I have learned over the past three years.
Practice is key Q. You say you have been playing this game for so long... well it might be true, but look at the progress you have made just in the past year. Don't always think of what you haven't accomplished, think of what you have.
Just watching Emac throw in general should be a inspiration to ALL golfers. You want to learn to throw correctly, then watch him. You think these Emporia guys are getting good from the Emporia water??? I don't think so. Like smitty said, hitting those par saves is where its at. Sure Emac can drop a bomb, sure he can hit a putt you think has no chance of going in. And these are all fine and dandy, but what impresses me is when there is a 15-20 putt, the guy hits it. From hard work and practice, not no magical grip or amazing disc.
