Herman Pin Placements

It won't be too long before we have the new pin placements ready to install. Now the question remains; where? I propose we leave 3 as it is and number nine add a long placement past #10 long tee, past the corner of the building back in the hole between the first tree and the building leaving enough ...

The new course is rather short and for a top pro, every hole is birdie possible. I played with a friend from Chicago shooting doubles and shot an 11 under and missed the first and last hole. I'm not saying the course is easy, but it is fairly open. As the park matures the next few years, it will get...

I made a mistake entering a score and it does make a difference. Bob Decker shot a 130; two strokes better than Marcus Sumner in Am Master Division. Sorry about that, any others?

We have been working frantically trying to get the course ready for this weekends tourney but there is one problem that we can not fix if it develops. Currently the creek is up to the bottom of the bridges. I thought it would be down by now (Monday) but it is not down a particle from yesterday. If w...

Is the park hard to find? Also, Good Manufactured baskets are hard to beat. A one time cost and you are done. Be sure and get the kind that are moveable so you can have alternate pin placements. May not be important now but will be in the future.

Colwich Tourney

The Colwich tourney is coming up soon, Feb 19th this year is a Saturday. There has been a lot of work getting the course ready along with a new blue fairway on 17 cut out. There was a lot of damage from the ice storm and all of it will not be cleaned up as you will see when you come to play but will...

For those of you that have never played Wichita, this is a once a year experience. A temporary course is set up through the woods that will have you scratching your head wondering how you got a 4 (or higher) on a 150 ft hole. Don't miss this one.

Thats right sandman, you didn't know Mark Jennings. Did he get a lot done? Yes and no. He may be credited for the course in Wichita but it was because the timing was right and the city wanted to do what other towns were doing. The city actually contacted me for information because the current PDGA A...

2M

The only part of the 2M rule I didn't like was the double penalty from cedars or other evergreens that reach the ground. I think this changes the psychology of the game. I like the relief idea but I guess it's too late for suggestions. The deal is done and I'll enjoy it everytime I get stuck above 2m.

Here is another suggestion which I made to Scott many years ago. I realize the original goal of the KDGA was to reward the player that participated the most. So if we go on that theory, how can we get more participation. My suggestion was to make regions and have regional champions. A player of cour...

2005 schedule

The Colwich tourney should be on Saturday this year instead of Sunday. As for the the Derby course, a bunch of the local players spent the weekend of Dec 11/12 and finished all the chain sawing to get the other nine baskets installed, The only work left to do is chipping up the brush created by all ...

This is what I believe to be fact about the subject. LINDSBORG-I have always believed that Lindsborg was the original basket course in the state installed in 1977. Baskets are in safe keeping. Contact me if need more info. VALLEY CENTER-The Valley Center course started in 1987 but wasn't playable un...
