I clipped this from the Jan 20, 2010 K-State Horticultural Newsletter: > ORNAMENTALS > Start Trees Off Right > Research from K-State’s John C. Pair Horticultural Center has quantified > the effect of controlling grasses around newly planted trees. Jason > Griffin, William Reid and Dale Bremer conduc...

Whoah, I forgot what bare ground looks like. There's still 6"-8" of snow here...and only 1/8 mi visibility in the middle of this friggin' foggy afternoon. You all be lucky in the ICT...! 8)

Re: pdga

IMHO, getting a PDGA # is worth it...as that # is yours forever. Now whether you will continue to find value in it will depend on your desire to participate/compete. With the number of regional/local PDGA sanctioned tourneys increasing every year, you'll have quite a few opportunities to put your me...

Re: End of the Year -- who's playing?

...There is a course that I have not yet played at Clinton Lake near Lawrence. I may have to find a reason to drive over there and check it out. While I've not played the Clinton Lake course in quite some time, I will highly recommend locating a guide for navigational assistance. The course is w/in...

Re: New Innova

The wider the rim - the more nose-angle sensitive they are at launch.

If one can't throw a Tee Bird/fairway-driver-of-choice straight-ish with control - then throwing a Boss is likely a big gamble as far as landing it where one wants off the tee.

Work your way up to faster discs.

Re: Lawrence Club?

The folks that head up any DG club are cut from special cloth. In my 12 years of playing I've seen/contributed to a few attempts to establish a Lawrence club...and, IMHO, there exists a transient~population issue of DG'ers making for a tough time to keep the momentum a'rolling. Hans Coleman 8) has d...

Tuesday evening's for random dubs or singles is what I remember...they used to also play Thursday's. Will guess they're starting around 5 or 5:30 these days... Come out to WyCo league Friday PM...though be there @4:45 to be signed up and ready to tee by 5ish. The perfect end to an imperfect week... ...

Re: Lawrence Kansas Disc Golf - Online Forum

Stinging Nettles is the evil fireweed. I played my first round DURING mosquito season this last Wednesday. Yup, it turned into my worst DGing experience ever. There were mosquitoes nearly the size of a horsefly...was totally unable to concentrate, even with DEET. After 3 hard freezes I'll return...a...
